What is the correct way to shave? Part 2

I hope you liked the last article that talked about the correct way to shave Part 1 , after continuing to search the world for the secrets of how to have the best shave, we continue with the following 5 steps;

6-. Use the rake the right way.

Ideally, shave in the direction of beard growth . Start with the sides, then the mustache area, and finally the chin. Chin hairs are the toughest, so it's best to leave them longer to soften with shaving cream .

Shaving against the direction of hair growth gives a faster shave , but has two drawbacks:

  1. It's a great way to donate blood, and
  2. You run a high risk of cutting a hair below skin level, causing an ingrown hair - the beard grows into the tissue rather than out of the pore, resulting in inflammation and possible infection.

To avoid these problems, shave "with the hair" (i.e., in the direction of hair growth). Everyone's facial hair has its own growth pattern. If you're not sure of the direction of your beard, let it grow for a day or two and you will see.

You also need to let the razor do the work - don't press too hard or you'll cause ingrown hairs and razor cuts.

7-. If you want an even closer shave.

If you want to get a closer shave (as many barbers do) apply a little more foam (add more cream if needed) to the areas you want to shave again. Keep everything moist. This is one of the added benefits of using a brush . For most people, re-shaving in certain areas is tricky, by the way, pros usually shave “with the hair” first, and then go back to shave again - but they are trained professionals!

But, don't go ultra shave. Over-shaving will cause skin irritation and the dreaded razor burn and rash.

8-. Clean and heal after shaving.

After shaving, when the skin is most vulnerable, rinse your face with warm water and use a facial scrub .

9-. Rinse with cold water

Besides that it is a delight, and dry with a clean towel. (Don't rub! Just pat)

10-. Finish with an After Shave.

Shaving can remove up to two layers of skin. There is no other regular activity that does this, and therefore it is so important to use a good quality moisturizer after shaving. Designed as an aftershave balm and moisturizer in one, an After Shave After Shave is the ideal way to replace lost moisture and soothe skin. The best After Shave not only replaces lost moisture and soothes, but also has ingredients that cool and refresh the skin.

I hope that these 10 tips help you to never have a burn or irritation when shaving, I know how annoying and horrible it is, if you have more questions, don't be afraid to put them in the comments. We love meeting people interested in looking and feeling better.

always a treat
